Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Blog Hop

My first DT blog hop - how exciting! This blog hop is between Rubber Dance and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. The Sisterhood is a fab challenge group with a healthy dose of attitude - love it!

I used the Sarcasm Superpower stamps to make this fun journal page. I stamped with real lemons to create the page which was great fun! I let the cut lemon dry out a little before I used it (you want it to dry out slighly but not shrivel). For the cut-out lemons, I stamped with Archival Ink and then blended over the images with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink. MAKE SURE you apply the ink to a heat proof mat and pick up the ink with the lemon from there - you don't want to get lemon juice onto your inkpads! For the background I sprayed a variety of citrus inks before adding stamping with the Rubber Dance Diamonds background and the lemon again, this time in green. All finished with that wonderful Sarcasm Superpower sentiment!

This awesome set of quirky Sarcasm Superpower stamps from Rubber Dance is up for grabs in the hop! Simply leave a comment on each blog in the hop for your change to win!

CC3C - Challenge 10 - Assemblage Clock

Apologies for the very dodgy photo but it's late and just realised that tomorrow is the deadline for the latest Compendium of Curiosities Challenge.

I chose the theme 'Secret Garden' for my clock - the door at the back is ajar, inviting the curious to step inside....

I altered the outside of the clock with tissue decoupage and Distress Paints, finished with Treasure Gold. I was going for a kind of aged copper look. Here is an 'in progress' pic of the side.

The Funkie Junkie Boutique is back to sponsor Challenge 10, and lovely owner Linda Coughlin has a fabulous $25 shopping spree to one very lucky CC3Cer! Plus the chosen art gets goodies from Tim and Mario!

Hope you like my take on the challenge :)

Tando Monthly Challenge - Letters and Numbers

It's time for this month's Tando Challenge and the theme is Letters and Numbers

When I saw this latest challenge theme from Tando, my mind immediately went to the gorgeous alterable clocks that Di does.

I chose this Andy Skinner clock and, as his sample is very masculine, deliberately went for a very shabby chic and feminine look to mine.

I used the Tim Holtz Wallflower papers - which include sheets of 3x3 designs. These were the perfect size for the clock segments! Other than the paper my clock is fairly simple. I edged each segment with grey ink and Treasure Gold, before gluing in place and sealing with Mod Podge Shimmer, which adds a lovely warm glow.

This will look lovely in my spare room which is decorated in vintage tones.

Check out what everyone else made over on the Tando Challenge Blog - there are prizes up for grabs too!

Hope you like!

Rubber Dance Colour Challenge!

Today sees the launch of the very first Rubber Dance Colour Challenge. An amazing grab bag of their absolutely gorgeous stamps worth 25 Euro is up for grabs, so don't miss your opportunity!

This challenge is all about classic autumnal colours, based on the palette below.

I used Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge and Barn Door Distress Inks for my make and also added a dusting of Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls to give my tag a lovely shimmer (sadly you can't really see this in the photo). I added a few stamped seeds too. The tag is matted onto kraft card and finished simply with twine. I coloured the letters (Tim Holtz) with Frayed Burlap Distress Paint so they tone beautifully with the warm autumnal colours.

For this tag I used these Rubber Dance sets. The gorgeous bird plate is brand new! You'll see more of that later this month.
NP2-M: Maple Leaves
